Marguerite Bornhauser

Marguerite Bornhauser is a photographer whose work is marked by a distinctive attention to colour, light and sensation. Her images play with fragments, tight framing and unexpected associations, transforming reality into a more ambiguous and poetic space. Moving between observation, intuition and desire, she creates series in which bodies, landscapes and objects seem to belong to a familiar world, infused with a renewed energy and a sense of freedom.

Mirage

Mirage explores the uncertain space between what exists and what we desire to see.
Developed over three years, including during a residency in Cadaqués, the project imagines a dreamlike, almost inaccessible landscape where reality gradually slips into fiction.

Here, colour becomes both material and language - intense, at times excessive, almost unreal. Water, light, accidents and transformations blur the boundary between the photographed world and the constructed image.

Yet beneath this dazzling beauty lies a more fragile tension: that of a nature made desirable at the very moment it seems threatened with disappearance. Mirage becomes both a promise and a warning.
