Boia
Through photographs spanning the earliest years of Bar Boia to the present day, this exhibition traces the story of a place deeply rooted in the memory of Cadaqués. Founded in 1946 on Platja Gran, the Boia witnessed nearly eighty years of change, as the village opened to artists, writers, travellers and tourism. Its tables brought together generations of locals and visitors, while figures such as Salvador Dalí, Marcel Duchamp, J.V. Foix and Richard Hamilton became part of its history. Yet beyond these names, the true protagonist remains the place itself: a space of encounters, conversation, music and everyday life. Following its closure last year, these photographs come together as fragments of a collective memory, bringing back to life a place whose disappearance reveals just how deeply it belonged to the heart of Cadaqués.
