HYPNOS

HYPNOS

Referring to Greek mythology, Hypnos is the god of sleep. He is the son of the goddess of the night (Nyx) and the god of dreams (Morpheus). His brother is the god of death (Thanatos). "Hypnos" transports us into a perpetually moving space of fantasy full of elements that are not logically inter-linked. To decipher these images, we should take into consideration their magical potential. What scene are we witnessing ? Is it a frozen moment or, on the contrary, a succession of temporalities ? Abstract representation of an initiatory flow which undulates between darkness and divinity, this cosmological exploration invests itself as well in the matter, the landscape as the human being, forming a spiritual link between the individual and the nature, between microcosm and macrocosm. From the darkness emerges the light, the nocturnal becomes diurnal and dreams mix with reality. Fable, poetry, metaphysical science fiction, esotericism, "Hypnos" is an encrypted photographic ensemble, through which resurgences of forms and signs appear as clues of passages between different worlds. In this world made of worlds, the breaches in the landscape evoke temporary portals, potential passages from one image to another, from one time to another.
