Born in 1988, Maxime Fardeau lives and works in Paris. A self-taught photographer, he explores the vast world of analog photography. He develops his films and prints in his darkroom, using traditional analog processes. The works of photographers such as Masao Yamamoto, Shoji Ueda, and Hiroshi Sugimoto serve as his daily inspiration.
Maxime's work is influenced by the Zen and wabi-sabi philosophies of the Far East. The artist explores simplicity, nature, and memory. His photographs are like small fragments of the past, a key to our memories - whether real, dreamed, or imagined.
All the photographs presented at InCadaqués 2020 were taken during his artist residency in Cadaqués this year, with the support of our partner Ilford.
