Kensuke Koike is a visual artist born in Nagoya, Japan, whose practice moves between photography, collage and sculpture. Through a universe infused with surrealism, he reinvents found images and transforms them into unusual and unexpected objects, where humour, curiosity and beauty come together.
In a playful way, his work challenges our perception of images and invites us to reconsider how we read them, allowing unexpected forms and meanings to emerge.

Sons (and unseen daughters)
For InCadaqués Photo Festival, Kensuke Koike creates an installation based on two faces photographed from the front and in profile.
Fragmented and distributed across a structure made of cubes, the images come together and recompose themselves, revealing a different portrait depending on the viewer’s point of view.
By combining the two faces of a couple, the work brings out the possible features of their children, whether real or yet to come.
