Kensuke Koike

Japan

Kensuke Koike is a visual artist born in Nagoya, Japan, working across photography, collage and sculpture. Through his surrealist eye, he reinvents found images, transforming them into curious and unexpected objects that reveal humour, curiosity, absurdity and beauty.
His practice playfully challenges the way we look at images, inviting us to look again - and to discover something entirely different.

For InCadaqués, Kensuke Koike creates an installation from two faces photographed frontally and in profile. Fragmented and redistributed across a structure of cubes, the images playfully come together and recombine, transforming the portrait with every shift of the gaze.
