Sidony Cloud is a Swiss collage artist. She creates works from catalogues, magazines, diaries, and art or photography books. She cuts, arranges, and reconstructs these fragments to compose ensembles that most often take the form of small artist’s books.
Her universe, both acerbic and joyful, is often deliberately provocative. Her iconography playfully subverts conventions and propriety, blending the visual punch of a flyer with the intimacy of a personal diary.

Pin-Up Food
Under Sidony Cloud’s scissors, pin-up calendars and glamour magazines collide with cookbooks and culinary publications— the two great genres that have long assigned women to narrowly defined roles. Yet this mischievous collision creates an unexpected short circuit: those who thought they were here to consume might find themselves consumed. Caught on the thread of desire, the viewer hesitates before this chimerical synthesis of instincts. The joyful analogy between bodies and food becomes a caprice one is unsure whether to resist or surrender to.
By blurring the codes of appetite, Pin-Up Food may make some teeth grind — but above all, it makes us laugh at ourselves, with its playful shortcut between the ritual of the romantic dinner and the vintage charm of the trifle.
