Daniel Loewe, born in Madrid and raised in Barcelona, discovered photography through his father’s shop and received his first camera at the age of seven. He won his first award in Boston in 1990 before graduating from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia’s inaugural photography program. Beginning as a freelance photojournalist, he now combines architectural and landscape photography with long-term documentary projects. His work has gained international recognition, including the Fujifilm Press Award (2005) and a nomination for the Oskar Barnack Award (2022).

Daniel Loewe presents an intimate exploration of love, loss, and transformation. Created in the wake of a personal rupture, the series includes landscapes shaped by both memory and presence—some captured in the winter calm of Cadaqués, others drawn from nature more broadly.
Devoid of human figures yet charged with emotion, these photographs reflect a process of healing. Skies, seas, and natural forms become vessels for grief transfigured, offering not only solace but the possibility of renewal, hope, and new beginnings.
