The MEP - Maison Européenne de la Photographie - in partnership with the InCadaqués festival is proud to present with all most 50 photos, the emblematic work of photographer Helmut Newton, now recognized as one of the greatest authors of 20th century photography. Through this selection of prints from the MEP collection, the exhibition aims to offer a representative overview of the great Newtonian subjects and the richness of the photographer's work.

His sophisticated fashion photographs, celebrity portraits and daring nudes turned the world of magazines upside down in the 1960s, before ending up on museum walls a few decades later. A provocative gentleman, Helmut Newton imagines incongruous and humorous scenes of life, in a fantasy world of luxury, populated by powerful, sculptural and over-sexualized women. His daredevil aesthetic hasn’t ceased to assert for nearly fifty years a radical freedom of creation, ignoring good taste and good morals, mixing in his images voyeurism, narcissism, eroticism and violence. His images have toured the world and have imposed a unique style that has revolutionized the imagination. His photographs continue, even today, to question as much as they fascinate, reaffirming their status as icons.
