Born in 1988, Maxime Fardeau lives and works in Paris. Self-taught photographer, he explores the vast world of analogue photography. He develops his films and prints in his darkroom, using traditional analogical processes. The works of photographers such as Masao Yamamoto, Shoji Ueda or Hiroshi Sugimoto are his daily inspiration.

Maxime's work is influenced by the Zen and Wabi-Sabi philosophy of the Far East. The artist explores simplicity, nature and memory. His photographs are like little shards of the past, a key to our memories, whether real, dreamed or imagined.

All the photographs presented at InCadaqués 2020 were taken during his artistic residency in Cadaqués this year, with the support of our partner Ilford.
